Associate

I am an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team of MinterEllison LLP.  I have experience in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters with an emphasis on employment, insolvency and liquidation matters, and commercial litigation.

I completed a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication and a Juris Doctor degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I joined MinterEllison LLP in 2021 as a Trainee Solicitor and received training in the dispute resolution practice, corporate practice and construction practice.

Career Highlights

Employment

  • Advising employers (including multinational corporations) and employees on contentious and non-contentious matters throughout the employment life cycle, ranging from drafting employment contracts, reviewing employee handbooks and policies to terminations.
  • Advising on a wide range of employment issues relating to discrimination and harassment, personal data privacy and occupational safety.
  • Advising employers and employees on employment claims brought in the Labour Tribunal and discrimination complaints lodged with the Equal Opportunities Commission.
  • Representing an employee in a claim against her former employer regarding entitlements under certain call option deeds.
  • Representing an employer in defending a claim brought by a former employee regarding post-termination restrictions.

Insolvency and Liquidation Matters

  • Representing the (provisional) liquidators of two listed companies in very substantial audit negligence claims against their former auditors.
  • Representing a defendant to a winding-up petition instituted by the eldest son of a well-regarded businessman in oil and gas against, among others, his brothers.
  • Representing the petitioner in the winding-up proceedings against an established construction company and the application for appointment of liquidators.
  • Advising clients on issues relating to liquidators’ duties and receivership generally.

Asset Recovery

  • Representing the liquidators of an open-ended mutual fund and a segregated portfolio company in an asset recovery claim of over HK$200 million.
  • Representing victims of email frauds and related recoveries involving applications for Norwich Pharmacal and anonymity orders.

Miscellaneous

  • Representing listed companies and their officers in investigations commenced by key financial regulators such as the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (HKEx).
  • Estate of Li Chung – Representing PwC, the Administrator of the Estate of Li Chung.
  • Advising the son of a deceased tycoon with business interests in Southeast Asia on trust and corporate compliance matters.
