Presentation for the members of The Law Society of Hong Kong on Ethical Walls for Law Firms

Our Partner Eddy So presented the topic “Ethical Walls for Law Firms” to members of the Law Society of Hong Kong for a Risk Management Education course.  Eddy’s presentation covered the legal and ethical principles relating to establishment of Ethical walls (or information barriers) in scenarios where there is a potential conflict of duty / interest affecting a law firm’s representation of a client.

Insurance Regulatory Webinar: Statutory Secrecy under the Insurance Ordinance (Cap.41) and Legal Professional Privilege

On 28 August 2020, our Partner Mr. Eddy So and Associate Ms. Iris Cheng presented a webinar (two sessions; one in Chinese and one in English) for members of The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers on “Statutory Secrecy under the Insurance Ordinance (Cap.41) and Legal Professional Privilege”. The two sessions were well received by a total of over 200 participants.

The participants expressed interest in the topic as reflected in their comments and questions. We are grateful to have received feedback that the webinar was “informative”, “useful” and “offered practical steps”.
